Lilli was sitting on her bed in her azure bedroom. The drapes were open, as they were every morning, and the sunlight was shinning into her room. The light was reflecting off the walls in such a way that it made the room feel almost alive with warmth.

Lilli stood and went to her window. She opened it and took a deep breath. It was that time of season when the leaves were just beginning to change, but the air still had a hint of summer left in it.

She turned away and was going to begin getting dressed when she sensed a movement by the window she had just opened.

Immediately and instinctively, Lilli swiveled around to face the window...

Tonight, many events will take place
some significant,
some ordianry.

People will live
while some vanish,
but most involved will be destroyed.

The shadow finished his letter and signed his name, his hand positioned oddly to accomodate for his abnormally long black nails.

He was a demon.

But not by choice.
By force.

He remembered it was years and years ago; it seemed as if he and his brother were playing tag in the yard one day, and then the next... things changed.

-Black Clad Butler- At Her Side *Prolouge*"Lizzie… remind me again why we're here?" A very young girl with midnight hair stood in the center of a grand ballroom. She's a bit shorter than her cousin and lifelong friend, Lizzie. The girl wore a dress that complimented her stunning eyes, cobalt blue with laces and bows, just what a young girl her age should be wearing.

"it's a ball, silly. That's why we're here." Lizzie wore her blonde hair in pigtails that fell in stunningly perfect curls beyond her shoulders, and a dress the color of freshly grown red roses. "Plus, I simply adore all the fancy dresses—oh! Like hers."

The chilling shrieks brought Lilli to a state of full awareness. She sat up in her bed as she listened for more.

"Leave us alone, let him g-!"

It was her mother, Violet. Lilli shot out of her bed and bolted to the grand hall. "Mother?" She ran to her parents' room. When she got there, she found her parents, beaten badly, with handkerchiefs shoved into their mouths. Their hands were tied as her mother sat on the floor bawling and her father, William, lay on the floor, unmoving.

Lilli was slightly confused. "Hunh? Aelred who?"

Sebastian snapped out of it. He crumpled the parchment and threw it away. He stepped back into the kitchen to finish preparing Lilli's breakfast.

Lilli followed him into the kitchen, still wanting an explaination. Sebastian sensed that was what she was there for, so he took a deep breath. "Aelred is no one of importance. He is simply my former partner."

"Partner...? Partner in what context?"

Sebastian turned to her with a smile on his face. "It is not what you are thinking of. We were working partners, he and I."

Lilli nodded, relieved. "Well, what happened?"

He lifted a fist, palm facing him, and rapped the door with his knuckle a few times. "My Lady, have you awoken?" Not hearing an answer, he twisted the knob and pushed the wooden door open with a creak. It was dark in the room he walked into and he could hardly see the cart he was pushing in front of him.

-Black Clad Butler- At Her Side *Epilogue*Lilli looked down onto Earth from her fluffy white cloud chair. It had been almost two months since she had become an angel and she was loving it. Everyone was extremely pleasant and treated her like one of them, dispite being part demon.

But there were some negatives...

One- Everyone was nice all the time. No one got angry, not once! Lilli had tried to provoke them, but it never worked. They would either laugh or say "Oh, that's alright!"

Two- Everything was perfect. There was no reason to complain. There was no action or crime or anything even remotely close. It was boring.

And last, but certainly not least, Three- Lilli was different.
